From 1990 – 1993, I lived and worked in Gabon (Central Africa) for 3 and half years and traveled extensively in Western Africa. I returned to photograph again in 1996. The images in this portfolio capture the quiet daily moments of life in the villages of Gabon and Mali. I was interested in using photography to translate some of the more subtle aspects of the Malian and Gabonese cultures through portraits of some of the people who populated my daily life. **Please note that the copyright of all the
